This year's theme for National Food Safety Month is “Controlling Risk: The Elements of a Food Safety Management System”
A Food Safety Management System, or FSMS, is a systematic approach to controlling food safety hazards and ensuring that food is safe to eat. It also is a practical tool that restaurants can choose to combine with existing mandated programs to ensure employees understand and follow safe food handling practices. The goal is to show your employees the critical role they play in keeping food safe through implementing a FSMS.
